CAPAB is the organization that gathers blueberry and other berry
fruit growers in Argentina.
The production activity started in the 90’s and the first fruit
export was in 1994. As a result of the progress made by this sector,
at the beginning of 2000 it was evident that the producers needed an
organization to achieve a better performance of their commercial
activity.
In this pursuance, a group of growers started to have informal
meetings in order to make joint efforts towards common interests.
These efforts led to the creation of the Association in 2002.
In connection with many State and private entities and fruit
associations from other countries, CAPAB works to improve the
conditions of this particular market.
More than 80% of blueberry producers of the country are affiliated
to this institution. They represent 300 growers with more than
3,000 planted hectares (7,500 acres).
